Ukwuoma Ukairo

Ukwuoma (she/her/they/them) is a 200-hour registered yoga teacher. She completed her 200-hour certification in February 2020 in Oxford, Mississippi, and has taken countless continuing education modules. She was drawn to yoga through how powerful and restored she felt on her mat and as her practice grew. As someone who has struggled with depression and anxiety long-term, yoga (paired with therapy and mental health care) has brought so much relief to her life. Also, she is a big proponent of more diversity and inclusion in white spaces, and creating safe environments for all people to learn and grow with one another. A big part of her yoga practice is aiming to making yoga more accessible.

Ukwuoma is a community organizer and always an advocate for all Black lives. She lives by the quote by bell hooks โ€œwithout justice, there can be no love.โ€ โค๏ธ

Ukwuoma lives (with a lot of her plants) in Atlanta, GA and has taught at Dancing Dogs Yoga Atlanta since July 2021. She is currently enrolled in the Badass Advanced Vinyasa 300-hour training at DDY and plans to travel the world doing yoga.

Favorite Yoga Pose: โ€œRight now, I've been LOVING half-pigeon. I've been holding a lot of stress in my hips and the deep release has been so so so good!โ€

Ukwuoma Fun Fact: โ€œThis is so weird, but I hate ice cream! I am a weird texture person, and I cannot get with it!โ€

โœจ Star Chart: โ˜€๏ธ Scorpio sun | ๐ŸŒ™ Aquarius moon | โฌ†๏ธ Aries rising
