Alex Walker
Alex is a data nerd by day and yogi by night! She found yoga in 2010 during a transitional period in her college town of Athens (Go dawgs!). Yoga continued to follow her in all post college lives, including the Peace Corps with a totally random Kundalini class in West Africa!
In 2015, Alex took the plunge and became a 200 hour YTT at Kashi Ashram. A Python programmer by trade and Economist by education, teacher training turned her logical, analytical world upside down, teaching her to laugh at the tricks the mind plays. She found transcendental meditation in 2018 and has since made it a daily practice. She is passionate about making mindfulness accessible to all left brained skeptics and firmly believes there is a yoga practice for everyone! She led a meditation group at Caterpillar for 2 years and loves finding the intersection between the office and the chakras.
After five years in Illinois and a 500 hour YTT certificate under her belt, she is super excited to be back living and teaching in Atlanta. When not on a mat or meditation cushion, Alex can be found traveling (48 countries and counting), with her all white kitty Sasha, trying new restaurants, dancing to all of the EDM and top 40, or walking/biking the Beltline.
Favorite Yoga Pose: Half moon - I love trying to get as narrow as possible and the simultaneous hip/chest opening.
Favorite Food: Anything seagan, seafood plus vegan deliciousness
