The deep dive

Beyond the chakra chart

Seven colors. Seven body parts. That's how most of us met the chakras. It's a beautiful doorway, but they were never meant to stay on the page.

For eight Sundays, we go one chakra at a time: its bija mantra, breath, mudra and myth. Two hours of learning, then a 90-minute Sunday Service where you feel it in your body.

You'll carry it home into your practice, your relationships and your days. And if you teach, into your classes too.

What you'll experience

Here's what fills each Sunday

We explore one chakra in depth each week, starting at the root, rising to the crown, and finally experiencing the whole energy body as one.

Discussion + the subtle body

Real conversation about how each chakra lives in you.

Bija mantra + chanting

The seed sound of each chakra, felt in your own voice.

Pranayama + mudra

Breath and hand gestures that shift your energy right away.

Asana in Sunday Service

A 90-minute practice that brings each chakra into your body.

Meditation + journaling

Quiet time to feel it, then write what comes up.

Myth + philosophy

The stories and teachings that bring each chakra to life.

Your teacher

Meet Shelley

I'm Shelley Carroll, founder of Dancing Dogs Yoga and an E-RYT® 500. I've been training yoga teachers since 2010, and I love sharing this work.

I'm a little obsessed with the chakras. They sit at the heart of everything I teach, and I'm writing a book on the chakras and social justice.

I don't teach the chakras as a color chart or a list of body parts. I teach them the way I live them: through breath, mantra, mudra and story, in a body, in a room full of people. You'll leave knowing how to bring them into your own practice and your classes in a way that feels real.

The chakras are a living map of the body, of our relationships and of the world we're trying to build. Come explore them with me.
