Why come back

Your first training was a firehose. This time, it lands.

The first time through, you were learning pose names, sequencing, anatomy, philosophy and how to hold a room, all at once, often while your own practice was getting turned inside out. Most of it flew by. You kept what you could and figured out the rest on your own.

The Reboot is the full 220-hour immersion again, with everything you know now. You already have the basics, so you can actually take in the teaching skills, the philosophy and the practice you didn't have room for the first time.

In-person yoga teacher training in Atlanta: hands-on assist in a full class at Dancing Dogs Yoga

Trained online?

You learned yoga on a screen. Now come learn to teach it in a room.

Online trainings gave a lot of us a way in, and that matters. But some things only happen in person: finding your voice in front of real people, reading the bodies in front of you, learning hands-on adjustments, getting live feedback on your cues, and feeling what it's like to hold a room. The Reboot gives you all of that.

  • Practice teaching real people, every weekend
  • Hands-on adjustments, with consent at the center
  • Mentors who watch you teach and give live feedback
  • Finding your voice and learning to hold a room
  • Nine weekends with a cohort that knows your name
  • A new 220-hour certificate from Dancing Dogs Yoga

Your lead trainer

Hi, I'm Shelley.

I've been training yoga teachers since 2010, on six continents, and I'll be with you from opening circle to graduation. You'll have our whole faculty and a support team alongside you, and I'm here for your questions between weekends too.

My own path includes two decades of vinyasa with teachers like Bryan Kest, Shiva Rea and Seane Corn, Yin with Bernie Clark and Sarah Powers, Yoga Nidra with Richard Miller, and an Ayurvedic certification. I'm also writing a book on the chakras and social justice. For me, yoga and liberation have never been separate, and that's how we teach it here.

Meet our faculty
I highly recommend DDY's YTT because you will discover yourself in ways you would not otherwise. Inclusivity is the foundation of our community, and it's genuine. We have access to some of the most experienced professionals in the game who are invested in our individual growth as teachers and willingly share their knowledge and passion both inside and outside of the studio.

FAQ

Questions about the Reboot

What is the Yoga Teacher Training Reboot?

It's our full 220-hour yoga immersion and teacher training, offered at a returning-student rate to anyone who has already completed a 200-hour yoga teacher training. It's for DDY graduates coming home, teachers who trained at another studio, anyone whose training happened online, teachers who feel rusty or stepped away from teaching and want back in, teachers stuck in the same sequences and cues, and practitioners hungry for the philosophy their first training rushed past. Whether you want to teach with more confidence or simply go deeper in your own practice, there's a place for you here. You'll join the new cohort for all nine weekends and graduate with a new 220-hour certificate from Dancing Dogs Yoga.

Who can join the Reboot?

Anyone who has completed a 200-hour yoga teacher training at any school, in person or online. DDY graduates rejoin for $2,000, and graduates of other programs for $2,500.

I did my yoga teacher training online. Can I take the Reboot?

Yes. Online graduates are so welcome here, and you may get the most out of it. Your online certificate qualifies you for the returning-student rate.

I did my YTT online. Why should I retake it in person?

An online training can teach you a lot, but it can't put you in a room. In person, you'll practice teaching real bodies, learn hands-on adjustments, get live feedback on your cueing and your voice, and build the kind of confidence that only comes from holding space for people face to face.

What will I get in person that I didn't get in my online training?

So much. Every single weekend you'll teach real people and get live feedback from experienced faculty who watch you teach. You'll learn hands-on adjustments with consent at the center, something you simply can't learn through a screen. You'll learn to read the bodies in front of you, adapt your plan on the fly, project your voice to fill a room, and hold steady when the energy shifts. You'll breathe, chant and meditate surrounded by people, which feels completely different from practicing alone at home. And you'll build real relationships: a cohort that cheers you on, mentors you can reach out to, and a community that knows your name long after graduation. It's the kind of confidence you can only build by actually teaching in a room.

Is the Reboot the same program as the 220-hour training?

Yes: the same weekends, faculty, curriculum and practice teaching. The only difference is the price. We know you've already invested in your training, so you take the full program at a returning-student rate. And if you trained with us before, this won't be the training you remember. We're always adding and improving. No two trainings are ever exactly the same, and as we keep learning, our trainings grow and get better every single year.

Will I train alongside first-time trainees?

Yes. You'll be part of our new cohort. You'll bring experience into the room, and you'll be surprised how much you learn from fresh eyes.

Will I get a new certificate?

Yes. You'll graduate with a 220-hour yoga teacher certification from Dancing Dogs Yoga.

Do I have to do the reading and practice teaching?

Yes. It's the full program, including reading, the online video portal, and practice teaching between weekends. That's where the growth happens.

I'm not teaching right now. Is the Reboot still for me?

Absolutely. Some people come back to teach with real confidence, and others come back for their own practice. Both are welcome.

What if I miss a weekend?

Life happens, and we built this training with that in mind. You'll have mentors, a small group inside your cohort and a whole support team behind you. Videos, tutorials and resources will help you catch up, and when you need it, we'll work with you one on one to make up anything you've missed.

How do payment plans work?

A $300 deposit holds your seat. Once you've paid it, we'll set up the rest in monthly payments with us, at zero interest, through the end of training. Longer financing is available through a third-party buy-now-pay-later provider.

Do DEI scholarships apply to the Reboot?

Yes. Scholarships of up to $500 apply on top of the Reboot rate, for BIPOC, LGBTQIA+ and other underrepresented folks. We trust you to know your own lived experience.

What are the weekend hours?

Fridays 6:30–9pm, Saturdays 8am–6pm and Sundays 8am–5pm, in person at Dancing Dogs Yoga, 26 Waddell St NE, Atlanta.

The DDY training path

What's the difference between our yoga teacher trainings?

How the 220, the Reboot, the 300 and the 500+ fit together, and where to start.

Your path

Three ways in. One lifelong practice.

Start at the root, return when you're ready, and go as deep as you want.

  1. STEP 1

    Mūla

    the root

    220 Hour Yoga Teacher Training

You're ready to learn to teach, or to go deeper into your own practice.

  2. YOU ARE HERESTEP 2

    Abhyāsa

    steady practice

The Reboot · 220 Hour Refresher

You trained online, it's been a while since your 200, or you're ready to truly learn to teach.

  3. STEP 3

    Svādhyāya

    deep study

    300 Hour Professional Training

You're teaching and ready for Yin, Nidra, Restorative, Ayurveda and leading workshops.

All in: 500+ Hour Yoga Teacher Training

The 220 and the 300 together, at one price, for the full journey.

220 + 300 hours

How the path works

  1. 1

Everyone starts with a 200.No experience or prior training needed. Just curiosity and a willingness to practice.

  2. 2

A 200 opens the door to the 300.Ours or another school's. If you have a 200, you're welcome in the 300.

  3. 3

Feel like something's missing? Reboot first. If you trained online, it's been a while, or you haven't taught yet, start with the Reboot. Pair it with the 300 and save.

  4. 4

Or commit to the 500+ from day one.No experience needed here either. You sign up for both and move straight through.

Think of it like school. The 220 is your undergraduate degree. The 300 is your graduate degree. The 500+ is enrolling in both at once.

Every step earns a Dancing Dogs Yoga certificate. Keep learning: your students feel it.
