BREATHE: The Magic of Pranayama

You've been breathing your whole life. Most of us never stop to feel it. In Breathe, you will discover the magic and power of pranayama — the ancient yogic practice of working with the breath as life force itself. More than inhale and exhale, pranayama is the art of moving energy through the body, calming the mind, and waking up to what's already alive in you.

We'll learn four techniques together, move through several rounds of sun salutations with the breath leading, and spend time between each practice talking about what just happened in your body and why.

Box breath to arrive and settle. Ujjayi to feel how the inhale expands you and the exhale draws you in — and what that means for every pose you've ever taken. Nadi shodhana to balance the two sides of the nervous system in a way you can actually feel. Then a supported pose with bhramari — the humming breath — and time to ask everything you've been wondering about.

You'll leave with a handout, a practice you can use every day, and a different relationship to the breath you take ten thousand times a day.

No prior yoga experience required. Come as you are.
