From darkness, lead me to light.
The longest night of the year is here, and we're meeting it the way witches always have: together, in the dark, with fire in our hands.
For thousands of years, people have gathered on the winter solstice to keep vigil through the longest night and call the sun back home. The Celts honored the Cailleach, the old woman of winter who rules the dark half of the year. In Persia, families stay up all night on Yalda, eating pomegranates and reading poetry as an oracle. Everywhere, the message is the same: the dark is not the end. It's where the light is born.
High Solstice is our sacred cannabis ritual for this turning point: a night to gather in community, slow all the way down, honor what the dark has taught you, and call the light back in.
What to expect
THC solstice drinks, served by candlelight
A release ritual for what you're leaving in the dark
Oracle guidance for the new solar year
Deep rest in the dark, wrapped in blankets
The return of the light: we chant back the light with the ancient Sanskrit prayer Asato mā sad gamaya, tamaso mā jyotir gamaya, "from darkness, lead me to light," as flame passes from hand to hand until the whole room is glowing
And when the night is over, you'll bring the light home with you.
